The Constitution Education Fund Strategic Plan 2022-2027
Recently CEFA has been delighted to launch our revitalised Strategic Plan 2022-2027. Our programs and projects promote constitutional Civics and Citizenship Education across Australia in support of CEFA’s mission to safeguard our democracy.
Safeguarding our unique Australian democratic system of government has never been more important. At a time when one in four Australians say they have no confidence in their governments and governing institutions, and experts warn of a near total vacuum of consistent civics learning opportunities for our children today, the Constitution Education Fund Australia (CEFA) is on a mission to safeguard Australian democracy by revitalising civics and citizenship education.
In the next five years, CEFA will enact its visionary plan to make civics and citizenship a national teaching priority in schools, as well as lead a movement that drives better policies, more investment, and greater public understanding and engagement in our Australian democratic way of life.
- From the beginning of 2023 CEFA’s newly developed civics curriculum will be disseminated into all Australian schools and universities, filling the near total vacuum of sequenced, exciting and informative quality resources for students, teachers, trainee teachers as well as for the general public.
- CEFA will expand its flagship bricks and mortar projects, including the Australian Constitution Centre (ACC) exhibitions at the High Court in Canberra, its online initiatives to meet the new digitally enabled moment, and its annual Governor-General’s scholarships and Prize Programs.
- CEFA will shift the national mindset to prioritise civics education by leading a national movement that strategically advocates for better policies and more investment. In March 2023, CEFA will collaborate with the Australian Federal Government and other key stakeholders to host a flagship national civics and citizenship summit to be attended by all key stakeholders.
