Every law school in the country is represented by the national peak body of law student societies. Each year more than 450 delegates attend a national conference (Melbourne 2006 and Canberra 2007) and various competitions are conducted. The national essay competition (5000~20,000 words on a legal topic related to social issues, politics, economics and philosophy) does not have a major sponsor. It offers $1,000 in prices.
