The Queensland YMCA Youth Parliament is considered the original Youth Parliament project—initiated more than 40 years ago. Each electorate is guaranteed a delegate and regional and rural participants receive funding support. A problem identified is poor retention of both indigenous and younger delegates ~  CEFA proposed to offer a mentor program for these “at risk” participants.
