20 February 2007 - Constitution Education Fund Australia (CEFA) had its tax-exempt status confirmed by the Australian Taxation Office today following a tax review. CEFA is a not-for-profit, civics education organisation founded with a Council of eminent Australians drawn from academia, business and community leaders.
Under the patronage of the Governor General, CEFA aims to educate Australians about our Constitution. Civics education is the formal and informal teaching about Australia’s political and social heritage, our system of government, our democratic processes and values, our public administration and our judicial system. CEFA is an entirely non-partisan body dedicated to the teaching of civics and the Australian democratic heritage, particularly focussing on programs targeting the ages of eight to twenty five. Programs are structured under the five pillars of Australian democracy; our Rule of Law, parliamentary Democracy; Federalism; Rights and responsibilites; Traditions and Renewal.
