December 18, 2008 In a wonderful Christmas gesture to CEFA and disadvantaged schools hoping to implement a parliament, the Battaglia family has today sponsored 50 new schools.
Mrs Kerry Jones, CEFA Executive Director, stated in response “this is one of the most generous community service gestures I have ever seen. The CEFA Parliaments are being mentored daily to start in mainstream primary and secondary schools across Australia. However it is the disadvantaged schools we have been struggling to find financial support for. Due to the generosity of the Battaglia family, CEFA will now target 50 schools that are considered economically disadvantaged and/or with high indigenous populations in their student makeup”. We look forward to working with Mr Bruno Battaglia to empower the young students in these schools with a disadvantaged background. The wonderful tool the Parliamentary Club offers will help young students become knowledgeable, responsible, engaged and active citizens.
