In response to requests from students, university teachers and some regional campuses, the deadline for the Governor General's Undergraduate Essay Competition has been extended to 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time Friday 19 December 2008.

All students who have submitted to date will receive an email to confirm their opportunity to re-submit.

Given the very high calibre of entries from past years and the strong questions on offer in 2008 - CEFA hopes to give undergraduate students from all Australian universities the very best opportunity to enter the competition. Qualifying finalists will be judged in early 2009 by a distinguished panel of judges. The awards will be presented to winners of the CEFA State and National Awards ceremonies in 2009.
