Each year CEFA provides the Governor-General’s Undergraduate Essay Competition for undergraduate university students enrolled at an Australian University. The Competition recognizes the importance of furthering undergraduate students' knowlege in the Civics, Citizenship and Values areas.
2009 Governor-General’s Undergraduate Essay Competition This competition, entering its sixth year, awards cash prizes to winning authors. The essay competition reflects current constitutional and public policy topics relevant to students from all faculties and which cover the Civics, Citizenship and Values areas. In 2009, the Competition is open to Australian undergraduate students studying in all faculties at universities across Australia and includes questions that are related to politics and history as well as constitutional law. Every year the competition is judged by a panel of distinguished individuals including High Court Justices and prominent academics. This prestigious competition provides students with the opportunity to be further recognised for their academic skill, talent and research. The 2009 competition is now open and will close on Monday, 14 December 2009, 5:00AEST.
